No Dangerous Phenomena Recorded from Agricultural Perspective: Surenyans
No dangerous phenomena have been recorded from an agricultural perspective; moreover, the heavy snowfall observed at the end of January had a rather positive effect, especially on the autumn-sown wheat. This was stated today, February 2, during a press conference by Gagik Surenyans, Deputy Director of the Hydro-Meteorological and Monitoring Center.
“At this moment, all autumn crops in the mountainous regions of the republic are covered with a sufficient layer of snow, which creates conditions for the autumn crops not to come into contact with the cold air observed at night. From an agricultural point of view, all the conditions are satisfactory at this time,” he noted during the press conference.
Regarding the filling of reservoirs, Levon Azizyan, the director of the Hydro-Meteorological and Monitoring Center, stated that it is still early to comment on this. He mentioned that the issue will be addressed in the third decade of March when they will present the summary of winter and the weather forecast for April and May.
