Blocked Roads: Situation in Armenia

The Emergency Situations Service reports that there are blocked and difficult-to-navigate roads in the territory of Armenia.

Due to road renovation works until February 15, the section of the M-6 highway between Vanadzor and Alaverdi, specifically the 38th-40th km, will be closed to buses and heavy vehicles with trailers or semi-trailers. An alternative road will operate through the town of Noyemberyan.

In the Aragatsotn Province, the roads from the "Amberd" high mountain meteorological station to the Amberd Fortress and Kar Lake are closed.

The Vardenyats Pass is passable for heavy vehicles with the use of chains. The serpentine roads of Stepanavan are difficult to navigate for freight carriers.

According to information from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as the Crisis Management Center of the North Ossetian Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Stepantsminda-Larsi road is open for all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires.
