If Power is Cut for 4 Hours or More, Electric Company Must Compensate, Says Pashinyan
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced today, February 1, during a government meeting, that the current mechanism requires compensation for citizens if their electricity supply is not restored within a specified timeframe. However, many citizens are not aware of it.
“They do not know that if there is a power outage for 4 hours or more, the electric company is obligated to pay certain compensation. The Regulatory Commission oversees this, and these payments are made. The issue is that citizens do not always note it. There is a very important mechanism whereby citizens can appeal to the Regulatory Commission regarding the quality of electricity supply. We expect that work in these areas should be intensified,” he said.
Pashinyan added that they will be active in reforming this sector.
