American F-16 Fighter Jet Crashes Near South Korean Coast

The U.S. Air Force has confirmed the crash of an American F-16 fighter jet off the western coast of the Republic of Korea. Reports indicate that the pilot survived the incident. He was located approximately an hour after the crash and was transported to the hospital in an unconscious state.

“The pilot successfully ejected and has been rescued. He is in a conscious state and has been taken to a medical facility for evaluation,” reads a statement posted on the Kunsan Air Base website.

It was noted that the reasons for the crash will not be disclosed until the investigation is complete.
