Residents of Sakhalin are embracing a new sport by diving into snowbanks after a powerful cyclone, sharing videos of their antics on social media. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
Meanwhile, the state of emergency declared due to the snowfall has been lifted today. However, some students remain unable to attend school due to the ongoing road clearing efforts.
Additionally, assistance has been requested for 75 drivers trapped in snow drifts in Sakhalin, according to the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations. An emergency situation had been declared across the Sakhalin region due to the intensifying cyclone, resulting in dozens of flight delays at the local airport and students continuing remote education.
