In Istanbul, two foreigners, a Russian and a Tajik, are suspected of being involved in an armed attack on a Catholic church. This information was provided today by Turkey's Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya. In total, 47 people have been arrested as part of the investigation.

“Immediately following the attack on the church, the police launched a large-scale operation. On Sunday, 47 people were arrested at 30 addresses,” Yerlikaya stated during a press briefing with ABC News.

The attack occurred on the morning of January 28 at St. Mary Church located in the Sarıyer district of Istanbul. Two masked assailants opened fire on worshippers during a prayer service. As a result, a Turkish citizen born in 1972 was killed, and several others were injured.

A video capturing the outbreak of gunfire at the Catholic church in Istanbul has surfaced online.
