US Considers Secret Operations Against Iran, Bloomberg Reports

The United States is considering options to respond to the attack on its base in the Middle East, including the possibility of conducting secret operations against Iran. Bloomberg reported this on Sunday, citing sources.

According to the report, the attack that claimed the lives of three American soldiers will evoke a "more decisive response" from Washington, which will exceed the actions taken since the conflict in Gaza began. Among the potential actions, the agency highlighted a "secret operation, during which the US will strike Iran." At the same time, Washington would not publicly announce its involvement in this campaign.

Bloomberg noted that the US may also "directly target Iranian officials." Regardless of what Washington decides, President Joe Biden will have to make "one of the most important decisions" of his presidency. The agency believes this could lead to a direct confrontation between Washington and Tehran.

Earlier, the White House press office released Biden's statement, which noted that on January 27, "three American servicemen were killed and many were injured in a drone attack" on US forces "in northeastern Jordan, near the Syrian border." The US Central Command clarified that 34 servicemen were affected, with 8 requiring evacuation from the kingdom.

Later, Jordan's Minister of Communications and government spokesman Muhannad al-Mubayedin denied Biden's statement that American forces in the kingdom had come under attack. He stated that the American base located in the Syrian al-Tanf area near the Jordanian border was targeted.
