Iran Denies Involvement in Drone Attack on U.S. Base

Iran has denied any involvement in a drone strike on a U.S. military base near the Jordan-Syria border. This was stated by the Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic to the United Nations in an interview with the IRNA news agency.

The diplomat emphasized that this statement comes in response to accusations made by the Washington administration against Tehran.

On January 28, the U.S. Central Command reported that three American soldiers were killed and 34 others injured due to a drone attack by Iran-aligned groups. Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin promised to retaliate against the Iran-backed militias 'at the right time, in the right place.'

According to Al Hadath TV, the attack targeted the T-22 facility, which is located near a camp of American soldiers assisting Jordan with border fortification efforts. He noted that they are currently trying to determine why the air defense systems at the base, located in the al-Tanf area, failed to prevent the drone attack.
