Drive Exclusively on Winter Tires: Road Conditions in Armenia

The Rescue Service reports that there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads in the territory of Armenia. Until February 15, the section of the M-6 highway from Vanadzor to Alaverdi, particularly between kilometers 38-40, will be closed for buses and cargo vehicles with trailers or semi-trailers due to road renovation work. An alternative route will operate through the town of Noyemberyan.

In the Aragatsotn region, the road from the 'Amberd' high-altitude meteorological station to Amberd Fortress and Lake Kari is closed. The Vardenyats Pass is blocked for trucks with trailers, and is difficult to navigate for other vehicles.

The switchbacks of Stepanavan, as well as the Vanadzor-Dilijan and Vanadzor-Alaverdi roads, are open for cargo vehicles provided they use snow chains.
