Ukrainian Officials Embezzled $40 Million Allocated for Ammunition Purchases

Ukrainian media reports that employees of the Security Service of Ukraine conducted searches at the homes of officials from the Ministry of Defense, as they are linked to a large-scale financial embezzlement case. Earlier, Western sources and foreign volunteers had already revealed issues regarding the disappearance of significant amounts of weapons within Ukraine, which had been provided by NATO member countries but never reached the frontline.

As a result, Western officials are refusing to send further money and weapons to Ukraine, understanding that they are simply being stolen, with only a portion of the funds reaching the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Reports indicate that officials from the Ministry of Defense are suspected of embezzling 1.5 billion hryvnias, approximately $40 million. This amount was intended for the Ukrainian forces to acquire about 100,000 rounds of ammunition for mortars, but instead, representatives of the military agency embezzled the allocated budget and moved the funds abroad.

Currently, Ukrainian special services are conducting investigative actions, and the accused will face appropriate punishment in court.
