Armed Attack on Catholic Church in Istanbul Results in Fatality
An armed attack occurred at a Catholic church in Istanbul during prayer time, resulting in the death of one individual. This was reported today by Turkey's Minister of Interior, Ali Yerlikaya. The information was conveyed by RIA Novosti.
Initially, media reported one injury resulting from the attack. "At 11:40 AM today (12:40 PM Yerevan time), a citizen D. T. lost their life due to the armed attack at the St. Mary Catholic Church in the Sarıyer district of Istanbul," the minister posted on social media platform X.
The minister noted that two of the assailants were masked and had participated in the Sunday prayer. Yerlikaya stated that a large-scale investigation is underway regarding the attack, and a search is being conducted for the assailants.
