VIDEO: French Farmers Plan Complete Blockade of Paris
French farmers are planning a complete blockade of Paris. They expect to disrupt the supply of the capital. The Jeunes Agriculteurs farmers' union has announced its intention to organize a total blockade of the city and its suburbs to hinder the supply of any products to Paris. This was stated by the organization's representative, Maxim Bouizard, on the BFMTV channel.
Bouizard noted that the idea is to ensure that no trucks can deliver goods to the capital. The blockade is set to begin Monday night, with farmers hoping to control the routes leading to the city for as long as necessary to create a shortage of products. The operation is expected to last at least five days.
Despite Bouizard's statement that preparing for such a large-scale blockade will take time, protests continue in Paris and its surroundings. Farmers are erecting barriers on the roads, attacking trucks heading to the city, and burning their goods.
Farmers have expressed dissatisfaction with measures proposed by Prime Minister Gabriel Attal, deeming them insufficient and not commensurate with the scale of their protests. The French authorities have promised to abandon the tax hike on diesel fuel and have reminded that Paris opposes the free trade agreement between the EU and MERCOSUR, which farmers believe creates conditions for unfair competition. Nonetheless, farmers continue to protest.
