US Senate May Limit Illegal Immigrants' Entry in Exchange for Aid to Ukraine: CNN
The US Senate may soon introduce a bill that would significantly restrict the crossing of the southern border by illegal migrants. This legislation would, in turn, allow for the unblocking of aid to Ukraine.
According to CNN, the agreement is being prepared by a group of influential senators. If passed, the crossings by illegal migrants would be significantly curtailed. It would also expedite the asylum process by up to six months, which currently can take as long as ten years.
The Senate hopes that such agreements could allow for the unblocking of aid legislation intended for Israel, Taiwan, and Ukraine, which was not approved by the US Congress at the end of last year.
