Earthquake in Turkey Causes Casualties
A 5.1 magnitude earthquake has struck Turkey, according to the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD). The epicenter of the earthquake was located in İzmir, specifically in the Menderes district.
The tremors were recorded at 08:19 local time, with the quake occurring at a depth of 8.5 kilometers. In a statement from the İzmir governor's office, it was noted, “Our governor has received no negative news regarding the earthquake. I wish a speedy recovery to our affected citizens.”
AFAD also reported that there is no “negative situation” following the earthquake. “Field scanning operations are ongoing, and our teams are in a state of readiness. We wish a quick recovery to our injured citizens,” the statement added.
