Who is Involved in the International Commission on the Artsakh Issue

The newspaper ‘Hraparak’ reports: ‘As is known, at the end of last year, an international commission on the Artsakh issue was formed during a closed session of the Artsakh Parliament, which is endowed with a parliamentary mandate and is set to protect the fundamental rights of the people of Artsakh within international organizations and various platforms, addressing issues related to repatriation and others. A few days ago, former Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanyan announced that he would be coordinating the work of this commission.

We have learned that members involved in the commission's work also include members of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation such as Mario Nalbandian, head of the European Armenian Cause Office Gaspar Karapetyan, former MP and political scientist Karen Bekaryan, and the current Human Rights Defender of Artsakh Gegham Stepanyan. However, the composition of the commission may still expand.

It remains unclear how the commission will operate and whether international organizations will take into account this body formed by the Artsakh National Assembly, as the commission is newly established, and no initial steps have yet been taken.’
