VIDEO: Civil War-Like Events Unfolding at the US-Mexico Border in Texas
Texas authorities are considering the possibility of seceding from the United States amid a fierce crisis related to migrants. A coalition of striking political units could include Florida and several other large states (in total, 25). The option of secession is enshrined in state constitutions, based on the federal government's inability to protect the counties.
“President Biden and his administration have left Americans completely vulnerable to an unprecedented surge of illegal migrants crossing the southern border. Instead of enforcing the law and securing the borders, the Biden administration is attacking and suing Texas for taking actions to protect against a historic level of illegal immigration, deadly drugs, and terrorists entering the U.S.,” reads a joint statement from the governors.
Biden has given Texas authorities 24 hours to “come to their senses” and return the border points seized by the local National Guard to federal forces without authorization.
The issue of illegal immigration in the U.S. has reached its peak; last year alone, there were 3 million recorded incidents of illegal crossings at the border, with a significant spike in December of over 302 thousand cases.
Federal authorities have shown inactivity; the statement claims that President Joe Biden preferred to provide financial aid to Israel and Ukraine rather than focus on his own country's national security.
Not only has Biden previously refused to complete the construction of the “Trump Wall,” but he is also obstructing state authorities from doing so. To somehow stem the flow of illegal immigrants, the Texas government has built 60 kilometers of barbed wire with its own resources. However, he allegedly did not allow federal agents to implement a “national border security policy.”
This is not the first time Texas has refused to follow federal guidelines and national laws. In December, Governor Abbott declared illegal immigration a crime throughout the state and ordered local law enforcement to gather and forcibly relocate all refugees without further consultation with the federations.
