Azerbaijan's Prosecutor General Accuses Armenia
Azerbaijan's Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev has stated that Armenia is refusing to provide information about missing Azerbaijani citizens. This was announced during an expanded board meeting of the Prosecutor General's Office, as reported by Azerbaijani media.
According to him, the military prosecution, state security service, and the state commission on prisoners, missing persons, and hostages are conducting necessary measures to identify citizens who went missing during the first Nagorno-Karabakh war in collaboration with other relevant agencies.
He added that, similar to the issue of landmines, the Armenian side is avoiding cooperation and refusing to provide relevant information.
It is noteworthy that in an interview with Public Television on January 4, the chairman of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, Arghisti Kyaramyan, revealed that Azerbaijan has officially confirmed information regarding 23 individuals held in that country, 17 of whom, according to him, were captured as a result of the aggression in 2023. This group includes former officials of Artsakh.
Additionally, the Armenian side has factual information about the forcible disappearance of 32 individuals following the 44-day war, but Azerbaijan denies this information.
