Fragments of Missile Found at the Crash Site of Il-76 in Belgorod Region
Fragments, presumably from a missile, have been discovered at the crash site of a Russian Il-76 military aircraft in the Belgorod region. This information was reported by operational services and is shared by TASS.
On January 24, around 11:00 AM Moscow time, the Il-76 military aircraft crashed in the Korochansky district of the Belgorod region. The aircraft was carrying 65 Ukrainian soldiers who had been taken captive, along with six crew members and three accompanying persons.
The Russian Ministry of Defense claims that the aircraft was shot down by Ukrainian armed forces using surface-to-air missiles launched from the Kharkiv region. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called for an international investigation into the Il-76 crash.
According to France Info, citing military sources, the Il-76 could have been intercepted with the help of an American Patriot missile system in the Belgorod region.
