Same-Sex Marriages to Be Legalized in Greece
The Greek government will present a bill on same-sex couples' marriage to parliament. Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced this during a cabinet meeting, as reported by TASS referencing ERT-news.
According to the Prime Minister, the bill concerning equality in civil marriage is an important step toward achieving equality for all citizens. The bill primarily aims to protect children who already live with same-sex parents, ensuring that these children have the same rights as all other children.
At the same time, Mitsotakis added that he acknowledges and respects the church's position, which has been opposed to same-sex marriages.
