US and UK Launch 18 Airstrikes in Yemen

The United States and the United Kingdom carried out 18 airstrikes in Yemen on the night of January 23, as reported by Yahya Sariya, a military spokesperson for the Houthi 'Ansar Allah' rebel movement. The information was relayed by TASS, citing his social media accounts.

Sariya claims that the Yemeni capital, Sana'a, was hit by a total of 12 airstrikes, with three more targeting the Al Hudaydah province, two in Taiz province, and one in Al Bayda province.

Earlier, Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, the head of the Houthi 'Ansar Allah' movement's Supreme Revolutionary Committee, had advised Washington and London to expect retaliatory action at any moment after the United States and Britain carried out strikes on eight of the movement's targets in Yemen.

Meanwhile, officials in Washington and London announced that American and British servicemen, following their governments' orders and with support from Australia, Bahrain, Canada, and the Netherlands, had conducted additional strikes against eight Houthi targets in Yemen.
