Slovak Prime Minister: Ukraine's Membership Would Be the Basis for World War III

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has stated that at his meeting with Ukrainian counterpart Denys Shmyhal on January 24 in Uzhhorod, he will announce a blockade on Ukraine's membership in NATO, claiming it would signify the beginning of World War III.
According to RIA Novosti, Fico said, "I know what I'm going for; I am going with humanitarian aid. We will ensure that they do not receive weapons from the Slovak army and state reserves."
Regarding Ukraine’s accession to the European Union, he mentioned, "We respect that, but they must meet the conditions. I will say that I am against Ukraine's membership in NATO; I will use the right of veto and block it, as Ukraine's membership would be the basis for World War III."
