VIDEO: Dalma Gardens to Be Transformed into a Large Park, Hrazdan Gorge to Become a Recreational Area - Avinyan
The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, has announced that there is a project to transform Dalma Gardens into a large park. "Moreover, with minimal intervention, even down to the level of benches," he said.
Another project includes converting Hrazdan Gorge into a recreational area. According to the Prime Minister, this is an environmental mega-project for Yerevan. "The Mayor of Yerevan has suggested that we show some restraint in terms of investment projects in the Hrazdan Gorge so that we do not lose those areas for the creation of a recreational zone, and I fully support that logic," he stated.
Nikol Pashinyan emphasized the importance of addressing Yerevan's environmental issues. "We have significant problems regarding green areas in Yerevan, and we need to solve them," he added.
The Mayor of Yerevan, Tigran Avinyan, noted that technical and economic studies are currently being conducted over a 250-hectare area of Dalma Gardens. "In the future, with the logic of maximizing green space, the 250 hectares will be designed as a large urban forest-park. In fact, this volume of work will exceed the internationally recognized minimum threshold for green spaces per capita. After the implementation of the project, we will have 9 m² of green space per person," he stated.
