The Conflict Will Only End with the Establishment of a Palestinian State, Lavrov Says

The Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, commenting on the military actions between Israel and Palestine, emphasized: “The conflict resolution process in the Middle East will only conclude with the establishment of a Palestinian state. Without the creation of a Palestinian state, achieving peace in the region is impossible.”

Lavrov made this statement during a press conference dedicated to summarizing the results of Russian diplomacy in 2023, as reported by TASS. According to him, a viable state must be established that will comply with the provisions of the UN Security Council resolution and be able to live securely and peacefully alongside Israel.

As noted by the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, if the issue is not resolved in this way, “each subsequent generation of Palestinians will pass on the same attitude towards Israel that Palestinians currently hold.”

Russia, the minister assured, is ready to make efforts to resolve the situation in the conflict. He emphasized that the Russian Federation is very interested in ensuring that Israel lives in safety.
