Lavrov Does Not Plan to Meet American Counterparts in New York: The Reason is Known
Next week, there are no planned meetings for Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov with American counterparts in New York. This was announced to reporters by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov.
“Considering how this issue is viewed in light of the deeply hostile policy that the U.S. pursues towards Russia, and how this issue has been perceived lately, I do not assume that such communication will be fundamentally possible,” said Ryabkov.
According to the Russian diplomat, there is also no information regarding the presence of the U.S. Secretary of State in New York.
Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, stated that the head of Russia's foreign policy agency would participate in open debates on the Middle East at the UN Security Council from January 22-24 and in a UN Security Council meeting on Ukraine.
