I Must Disappoint You: Naming Famous People Will Still Leave You Anonymous - Alen Simonyan
The Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, wrote on his Telegram channel: "I have always had and continue to have many friends among our singers and public figures. Our friendship has been and continues to be based on mutual respect, love, common friends, shared stories, collaboration, our journey together, and honesty. I often stay in touch with some, while with others, the contact is less frequent. I have always worked to be and will continue to be by my friends' side. They have reciprocated my friendship with their love, respect, and presence.
This does not mean I like all my friends' songs or they all appreciate my performances, nor do they share my views. Many people I consider friends even engage in public political criticism; some participate in anti-government rallies. However, this has not hindered me from respecting, loving, and valuing them as artists. It will not keep me from being by their side in difficult times and, of course, sharing in joy.
Thus, for those who have been restless for nearly 15 days wondering who attended my birthday celebration, I must disappoint you: even by naming famous individuals and making insults, you will still remain anonymous, while they will continue to fill thousands of arenas, gathering applause and smiles."
