Arrest of the Head of Sayat-Nova Community
On January 14, an incident of hooliganism occurred in the Ararat region. According to Shamshyan.com, at around 00:30, the patrol officers of the 2nd platoon of the Ararat regional battalion of the Police of the Republic of Armenia stopped a Kia vehicle on H. Vardanyan street in the city of Masis.
The driver did not comply with the patrol officers' 'stop' command and drove towards the end of 8th street in Masis. There, the officers approached the vehicle and the driver stopped. It was revealed on the spot that he was 35-year-old Levon Serobyan, a resident of the Sayat-Nova village in the Ararat region. The officers urged him to undergo a sobriety test, but he refused and began to exhibit unlawful behavior, shouting obscenities at the officers.
The officers again urged him to cease his illegal actions and comply with their lawful demands, but he continued to disobey and shout insults. After that, the officers detained him on the reasonable suspicion of hooliganism and brought him to the Masis police department.
Serobyan is the administrative head of the Sayat-Nova community in the enlarged Masis municipality.
