Zakharova Comments on Polish Foreign Ministry Statement

The calls for the deployment of additional foreign troops on Polish territory should be regarded as an attempt to further escalate the tension levels in Europe. This statement was made today, January 17, during a press briefing by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

In this context, Zakharova commented on the Polish Foreign Ministry's announcement regarding the willingness to station German troops in Poland, aimed at strengthening NATO's eastern flank.

Zakharova reminded that there are already about 10,000 American soldiers stationed in Poland, along with a multinational NATO combat formation.
