U.S. Forgets It’s Dealing with a Nuclear Power: Call from Crimea to Remember Russia’s Nuclear Arms

The U.S. must remember in its plans and threats that Crimea is part of a nuclear power. This was stated by Ivan Shonus, the deputy chairman of the Committee on Public Diplomacy and Interethnic Relations of the Crimean Parliament. According to RIA Novosti, he commented on the words of retired U.S. Army General Ben Hodges, a former commander of ground forces in Europe, who is confident that whoever controls Crimea will win in the conflict.

In his opinion, to return the peninsula, it should be rendered 'unsuitable for the Russian troops and for Russia altogether.' The military advised to use long-range weapons to isolate the Republic, including the destruction of the Crimean bridge.

‘In the U.S., as always, they omit the fact in their plans that Crimea is Russian territory, and they are talking to a nuclear power that has everything in its doctrine,’ the parliamentarian urged not to forget. The expert believes that such discussions are taking place to obscure the failure of the Ukrainian counteroffensive.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in an interview with The Economist, stated that the main task of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is to isolate Crimea in 2024.
