King Charles III to Be Admitted to Hospital, Temporarily Halting Public Duties

King Charles III of the United Kingdom will undergo medical intervention next week. Consequently, he will temporarily suspend his public duties. This was stated in a statement from Buckingham Palace.

“Like thousands of men each year, the king also requires treatment for an enlarged prostate. His Majesty has a benign growth, and he will go to the hospital next week. The king's public duties will be postponed for a short time for his recovery,” the statement read.

Charles III is 75 years old. He ascended to the throne in September 2022 following the death of his mother, Elizabeth II (1926-2022).
