Colonel of IRGC Killed Near Iran-Pakistan Border
A colonel of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Hossein Ali Javadanfar, has been killed as a result of a "terrorist attack" near the Iran-Pakistan border. Militants from the group "Jaish al-Adl" engaged in combat with IRGC forces at several positions in Iran's Sistan-Baluchestan province, which borders Pakistan.
Earlier, "Jaish al-Adl" had promised to take revenge for IRGC strikes that occurred in Pakistan's Baluchistan the previous night.
The group launched an attack on an IRGC convoy, an IRGC checkpoint, as well as a vehicle carrying an IRGC colonel from the Saravan corps. Currently, the deaths of three IRGC members, including an officer, have been confirmed.
