Rostaviation Advises Carriers Not to Fly to Egypt with 27 Aircraft Due to Risk
The Federal Air Transport Agency has sent telegrams to "Aeroflot" and "Rossiya" airlines advising them not to operate flights to Egypt with 27 aircraft due to the risk of aircraft seizure. This information was reported by lenta.ru.
The messages state that flights to Egypt are not recommended from January 12 at 12:00 until further notice. A list of the aircraft is also attached.
The aircraft involved include 24 from "Aeroflot": ten Airbus A320, nine Boeing 777-300ER, four Airbus A321, and one Airbus A350. Additionally, three Boeing 737-800 from "Rossiya" are also included in the restrictive list.
Both airlines have complied with the recommendations from the Federal Air Transport Agency.
The publication clarified that all the aircraft belong to a state transportation leasing company. They, along with another 13 aircraft operated by S7, Aurora, and Yamal, are currently at risk of illegal seizure through the Supreme Court of Ireland.
