Road Closures and Difficulties Across Armenia: Updated
The Rescue Service reports that there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads across Armenia. Until February 15, due to road repair works, the section of the M-6 highway from Vanadzor to Alaverdi, between kilometers 38-40, will be closed for buses and heavy trucks with trailers or semi-trailers. A detour will operate through the town of Novembri.
The roads from the "Amberd" high mountain meteorological station in the Aragatsotn region to the Amberd Fortress and the Kar Lake are closed. The Tatev-Aghvani road is closed for trucks with trailers, while the Noravank-Shinuhayr intersection is closed for all types of vehicles.
The Vardenyats Pass and the roads in Syunik province are difficult for heavy trucks with trailers, and the Berd-Jambarak road is closed for all vehicles. There is a snowstorm on the Goris-Sisian road, and fog is reported in Artashat.
According to information received from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs' Emergency Management Department and the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations' North Ossetia Crisis Management Center, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires.
