Kim Jong Un Considers Complete Occupation of South Korea and Its Incorporation into North Korea
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has called for amendments to the North Korean constitution, designating South Korea as the "unchanging main enemy" and reaffirming the commitment to the "complete occupation of South Korea" even in the event of war. This was reported by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
"In the event of war on the Korean Peninsula, it is important to consider the complete occupation, suppression, transformation, and incorporation of the Republic of Korea into North Korea," said Kim Jong Un.
According to him, Seoul should be designated in the North Korean constitution as a "permanent main enemy." On January 10, Kim Jong Un stated that he has "no intention of avoiding war" in the region, while claiming that Pyongyang does not plan to initiate a unilateral war against South Korea.
On the same day, Kim Jong Un declared that the Republic of Korea has become the most hostile state from Pyongyang's perspective. Earlier reports indicated that North Korea is dismantling institutions responsible for inter-Korean affairs.
