Investigating the Incident Involving Tiran Khachatryan

In light of public interest, I find it necessary to clarify that among the five individuals arrested in connection with the incident of hooliganism involving the use of a weapon and causing injury to one person, which took place on the evening of January 11, 2024, at a cafe in Aramus village, one has been released from confinement, while four others are facing public criminal prosecution. This was stated by Gor Abrahamyan, spokesperson for the Investigative Committee.

“One of the latter has been charged under part 3 of Article 297 of the Criminal Code of Armenia (hooliganism committed with the use of a weapon) and, by order of the court, has been remanded in custody. The other three individuals have been charged under part 2, paragraph 1 of the same article (hooliganism committed by a group). A motion has been submitted to the court to also remand one of them in custody. The other two defendants have been subjected to a ban on leaving and have been released. The investigation, of course, continues,” he wrote.
