Which Roads Are Closed and Impassable

The Rescue Service reports that there are currently closed and impassable roads in the territory of Armenia. Until February 15, due to road repair works, the section of the M-6 highway between Vanadzor and Alaverdi will be closed for buses and trucks with trailers or semi-trailers, specifically at kilometers 38-40. A detour will be operational through the town of Noyemberyan.

In the Aragatsotn region, roads leading from the 'Amberd' high mountain meteorological station to Amberd Fortress and to K’ari Lake are closed. The Vardenyats Pass and the road from the Jermuk intersection to Kapan are closed for trucks with trailers and are difficult to navigate for other vehicles.

In the Syunik region, snowfall has been reported in the section called Saravan-'Zanger' near Vardenis. Black ice is present on the roads of the Syunik region. Fog is also reported in the Vardenyats Pass.

Regarding Lars, information from the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Emergency Situations Department of Georgia and from the crisis management center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in North Ossetia indicates that the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed for trucks. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
