Participants in Controversial Incident Involving Tiran Khachatryan are Citizens of Artsakh
Former Deputy Chief of the General Staff Tiran Khachatryan is not the only suspect in the controversial incident; also arrested are citizens of the Republic of Artsakh: 40-year-old Aksen Safaryan, 50-year-old Sergey Shamiryann, 49-year-old Garik Hayrapetyan, and 47-year-old Norair Avanesyan. Both T. Khachatryan and the aforementioned individuals have been transferred to the detention facility of the police department in Yerevan.
As previously reported, on January 12, officers from the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs discovered a suspect who had fired shots at the restaurant near Erik in Kotayk province on January 11. The suspect was the former deputy chief of the Armed Forces General Staff, Major General Tiran Khachatryan. He was located at the well-known “Zhpit” hotel complex in Jrvazh and subsequently taken to the Kotayk police department. At that moment, he was also in possession of a registered pistol in his name, which is believed to have been used to fire the shots.
