23 and 24-Year-Old Brothers Arrested for Assaulting a Doctor
On January 13 at 9:40 AM, a citizen called the National Police of Armenia to report that there were sounds of a dispute coming from an apartment in the 16th district, where an emergency medical doctor was being attacked. At 10:35 AM, a report was also received from the Armenia Medical Center, stating that one of the emergency medical staff had been transported for medical assistance due to bodily injuries.
With urgent measures taken by the officers of the Mashtots Police Department, it was determined that on the same day, an emergency team had responded to a call at an apartment in the Norashen district, where residents had argued with the doctor regarding medication injections, during which they assaulted him, causing bodily harm.
It has been reported that the 23 and 24-year-old brothers have been arrested on reasonable suspicion of causing bodily harm and have been presented to the investigative body. Earlier, we reported on yet another instance of violence against an emergency medical doctor who was fulfilling his professional duties at the time.
Hayk Kostanyan, spokesperson for the Mayor of Yerevan, has provided details about the incident.
