Tatev Monastery Father Mikayel Responds to Rumors of His Dismissal

For a considerable time, rumors have circulated among the public that His Holiness the Catholicos of All Armenians has dismissed Father Mikayel Gevorgyan from the Tatev Monastery. It is worth noting that these rumors were primarily spread by members of the ruling party on social media.

After a long silence, Father Mikayel has personally addressed this topic. He stated, “Dear faithful people, recently there have been discussions regarding my ministry on various platforms. Therefore, to avoid further misunderstandings, I would like to inform you all that I continue my ecclesiastical service at the Tatev Monastery. However, due to certain health considerations, I am currently not conducting the general Divine Liturgy. I urge everyone not to use my name inappropriately, especially not to attribute to me any immodest ambitions that are unbecoming.

My request is also that we equip ourselves with patience, find peace, and hope that, as a result of a positive final health assessment, God will soon resolve the aforementioned issue and I will conduct the general Divine Liturgy again.
