Military Helicopter Crashes in the USA
The MH-60R helicopter from the U.S. Navy's 41st Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron has crashed in California, near San Diego, during a training flight. This was announced by Bet Tich, the spokesperson for the commander of the North Island Naval Air Station, as reported by NBC News.
According to her, the helicopter fell into San Diego Bay around 18:40 local time (6:40 AM Yerevan time) during 'routine training.' There were six crew members on board, all of whom survived, and the rescue vessel present at the scene brought everyone to shore.
'At this time, all personnel are undergoing medical evaluations. An investigation has been initiated to determine the cause of the incident,' Tich stated. Earlier, a B-1B Lancer strategic bomber crashed during a landing attempt at Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota while conducting a training mission. There were four crew members on board, and all successfully ejected.
