Inmates Transferred from Shushi Prison to Armenian Correctional Facilities Voice Dissatisfaction
The inmates and convicts transferred from Shushi prison to the Armenian correctional facility during the 44-day war in 2020 are raising complaints, according to information from the daily newspaper "Yerevan." The inmates who contacted us mentioned that after the war, there was an amnesty for prisoners in Artsakh, leading to their release. They question why this amnesty is not being applied to those convicts and inmates who were transferred from Artsakh and are now in custody in Armenia.
Furthermore, in recent days, we have been receiving inquiries regarding whether there will be an amnesty in Armenia in 2024. "Yerevan" newspaper contacted the Ministry of Justice of Armenia, where officials requested written inquiries. We will await the official response from the ministry.
