Snow, Fog, Black Ice: Several Roads Closed and Impassable

The Rescue Service reports that there are closed and impassable roads in the territory of Armenia. The roads from the "Amberd" high mountain meteorological station in the Aragatsotn province to the Amberd Fortress and the Kary Lake are closed.

The section leading from the M-2 highway to the Kachik village is impassable. The Vardenyats Pass is impassable for trucks with trailers (it is recommended to use snow chains).

There is black ice in some parts of the Sisian-Zanger highway. In the Syunik province, snow is falling in the Vardenyats Pass, the Tigranashen bends, the regions of Aparan, Aragats, Vardenis, Kajaran, as well as in the cities of Sevan, Chambarak, Jermuk, Dilijan, and on the Sisian-Zanger and "Meghru Sar" sections.

Fog is reported in the Saravan-Zanger section, Vardenyats Pass, and the city of Chambarak.

According to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation’s North Ossetian crisis management center, the Stepanstminda-Lars highway is closed for freight vehicles.

It should be reminded that until February 15, due to road repair works, the section of the M-6 highway near Vanadzor-Alaverdi will be closed for buses and freight vehicles with trailers or semi-trailers at kilometers 38-40. A detour will be in operation through the town of Novemberyan.
