Dublin Is the City Where Residents Spend the Most Time in Traffic Jams

The capital of Ireland, Dublin, has taken the top spot among cities worldwide for the amount of time residents spent in traffic jams in 2023. This information is reported by RIA Novosti, citing data from the traffic navigation company TomTom.

The company analyzed traffic conditions in 387 cities across 55 countries. According to TomTom's data, Dublin residents lost 158 hours in traffic jams in 2023, with travel times during congestion increasing by 66% compared to periods with free-flowing traffic, which is also a record among different cities.

Following Dublin is Lima, the capital of Peru, with 157 hours, and Mexico City comes in third with 152 hours. The Irish capital also ranked second after London in the time required to navigate a distance of 10 kilometers (29.5 minutes) and recorded the lowest average speed during peak hours at 25.7 km/h, the company reported.
