Cameras Required for Cash Registers in Shopping Centers with Over 24 Million Dram Turnover, Says Head of SCS

All shopping centers with a turnover exceeding 24 million drams will be legally required to keep the activities related to cash registers under the surveillance of cameras. This measure aims to provide evidence in case the business does not accept a cash purchase fact, allowing it to reference the video recording as a favorable circumstance and present evidence.

This was announced today by the Head of the State Revenue Committee, Rustam Badasyan, during a meeting of the permanent commission on economic issues in the National Assembly.

He added that there will also be changes in the procedures for confiscating items, documents, and electronic programs, where judicial oversight will be established, which also leads to changes in the administrative procedural code. In particular, it will be allowed to examine confiscated electronic carriers only under preliminary judicial oversight.
