What Stage is the Recognition of Armenian Driver's Licenses in Russia? Responses from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia

The issue of recognizing Armenian driver's licenses in Russia is on the agenda of bilateral discussions. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia in response to written inquiries from Sputnik Armenia.

“At the same time, we inform that the parties have acknowledged the importance of legal formulation regarding the right of Armenian citizens to operate vehicles within the territory of the Russian Federation for the purpose of conducting commercial activities based on national driver's licenses,” noted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Previously, it was reported that the State Duma of Russia decided to indefinitely postpone the discussion of the bill regarding the recognition of Armenian driver's licenses for business and employment activities of Armenian citizens.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, for his part, stated that the rejection of recognizing Armenian driving licenses in Russia contradicts the fundamental principle of the Eurasian Economic Union regarding the free movement of goods, services, capital, and labor.
