The Registration Process of Presidential Candidates in Azerbaijan Has Concluded

The registration process for presidential candidates in Azerbaijan has concluded. Thus, for the snap presidential election scheduled for February 7, 2024, the Central Election Commission has registered 7 candidates.

The registered candidates include the current President Ilham Aliyev, independent candidates Zahid Oruji and Fuad Aliyev, Razi Nurulaev from the 'National Front' party, Fazil Mustafayev from the 'Great Revival' party, Elshad Musaev from the 'Great Azerbaijan' party, and Gudrat Hasanguliyev from the 'Complete Azerbaijan People's Front'.

It is noteworthy that earlier reports indicated that the CEC had confirmed the nomination of 17 individuals for the upcoming presidential election; however, 10 of them did not submit the necessary documents for candidate registration to the commission.

Recall that on December 7, Ilham Aliyev signed a decree to hold snap presidential elections in the republic on February 7, 2024.
