Pedestrians Crossing at Unspecified Locations Targeted by Patrols; No Exceptions, Everyone Will Be Fined

The newspaper "Hayrapet" reports that the statistics on traffic accidents recorded across the country last year, particularly the number of casualties and injuries, have raised serious concerns within law enforcement.

According to "Hayrapet", the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia has issued a clear directive to specifically reduce fatal traffic accidents and pedestrian incidents. To achieve this, from 12 PM today, the patrol officers of the Yerevan division of the police will be conducting intensified operations in the capital.

Pedestrians crossing roads at unspecified locations will be the focus of law enforcement. According to the law on administrative offenses, crossing a road at an unspecified location incurs a fine of 5000 drams, and there will be no exceptions—everyone will be fined.
