Which Countries Contribute the Most Tourists to Armenia
In 2023, Armenia received 2.3 million tourists, with the highest number arriving from Russia. This was reported by the Armenian Tourism Committee.
“In 2023, we had 2.3 million tourists, which is about a 20 percent increase compared to 2019, and approximately a 39 percent increase compared to 2022,” said the committee's president, Sisian Poghosyan.
Fifty percent of the tourists came from Russia, while Georgia and Iran occupied the second and third spots. Many tourists also came from the USA, particularly from the Armenian diaspora. He also noted, “We currently have a significant number of tourists from India, coming from Dubai. Germany and France continue to be important target markets for us. China is also among the top 10 countries.”
