Minister Zhanna Andreasyan Will Not Verify Shower Value; Issue Is Outside Her Scope
The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia (MoESCS) has not clarified whether Minister Zhanna Andreasyan checked the value of the shower at the school and whether she informed Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan about it. This was reported by Irakanum.am.
In response to an oral inquiry from the media, the MoESCS stated: “We inform you that in the video depicting the incident referenced by you at the M. Mekhakyan Secondary School in the village of Aragats, Armavir Province, it is recorded that the issue falls within the functions of the Urban Development Committee.” The MoESCS suggested contacting the mentioned body for clarification.
“At the same time, we inform you that during the working visit to the provinces of Lori and Armavir last week, issues related to the equipment of gymnasiums in newly constructed educational institutions were discussed during a working consultation held at the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports. Following the Minister’s directive, a working group has been formed to inventory the problems and develop proposals for solutions,” the statement added.
The website noted: “In other words, the MoESCS emphasizes that it is not their responsibility to verify the value of the shower, but that of the Urban Development Committee.”
It is worth reminding that during his working visit to Armavir Province, Prime Minister Pashinyan was in the village of Aragats. He posted a video on his Facebook page, stating that a new gym and auditorium had been built at the M. Mekhakyan Secondary School, which has 348 students. In the video, Pashinyan handed the shower from the sport complex restroom to Minister Zhanna Andreasyan, stating, “Ms. Andreasyan, take this and see what its technical specifications are worth and what it costs in the market; I am being entirely serious.”
