South Korea Announces Evacuation of Yonphyeon Island Residents Amid DPRK Provocations

South Korea has announced the evacuation of peaceful residents from Yonphyeon Island in response to provocations from North Korea. This has been reported by Yonhap.

It has been noted that residents were ordered to take refuge in shelters. According to the media outlet, North Korea has fired approximately 200 artillery shells towards South Korean islands, which have landed north of the maritime border between South and North Korea.

Local authorities reported that an emergency evacuation order was issued at 12:02 PM (Yerevan time: 7:02 AM) at the request of South Korean military officials at 12:30 PM (Yerevan time: 7:30 AM).
