Gaza is a Place of Death and Despair, Says UN Official
Gaza has become a place of death and despair, where a health catastrophe is looming. This was stated by Martin Griffiths, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs.
“Three months after the horrific attack of October 7, Gaza has turned into a place of death and despair,” Griffiths said. According to him, tens of thousands of people, mostly women and children, have been killed or injured, families are sleeping in open areas, and temperatures are plummeting.
As noted by the under-secretary-general, the areas where civilians have been ordered to move for their safety have been bombed.
“Medical facilities are under constant attack. The few hospitals that are partially operational are overwhelmed and critically lack all necessary supplies,” Griffiths stated.
